Here is a sample Collection Development Policy I created by looking at policies from 6 different schools, along with the reconsideration policy that I compiled from 4 additional schools. As with the reconsideration policy, I included the name of the school district after any paragraph/sentence that I used from their policy. Portions that were my own creation are in italics. The sources page includes the 6 schools I used for the general collection development policy along with the 4 I used for the reconsideration policy. The six new schools I used were: Blue Valley School District, Columbia Public Schools, Norman Public Schools, North Spencer County School Corporation, Southgate Community Schools, and Wellesley Public Schools. There were many more issues to consider while creating this document than I expected, so it was rather eye-opening.
